The Shire covers an area of , and its seat of government is the town of Quairading. ==History== Quairading was initially constituted as the Greenhills Road District in 1892, covering a large area east of York. In 1913, Greenhills was broken up to form Avon, East Avon (Bruce Rock) and Kunjinn (Corrigin).
